Between 2022 and 2024. our cafe was run by volunteers from the local support group for animal charity “Dogs for Good”. They raised funds to support the initial socialisation of puppies (up to 14-18 months old), who then go on to complete their training to become Assistance Dogs. We are delighted that we are named as the official Puppy Partner for these dogs. We receive regular reports on their progress from the charity but also the puppies are regular visitors to our fairs. These visits are very popular with stallholders and visitors alike, plus it helps the socialisation process.
So far, the craft fair has helped in sponsoring three puppies: our current puppy (who is fully-sponsored by us) is Cookie. Previously, we have part-sponsored Milton and Kurtis who moved on to complete their training at Dogs for Good HQ in Banbury.
For 2025 and 2026, we are continuing to support the charity through our stallholder raffles each month.
If you are interested in learning more about the socialisation process, you can find out more on the charity’s web site.
