Cookie

Cookie is the latest puppy to be sponsored by CCC Craftfairs. As he is fully-sponsored by us, we were able to choose a name for him. Several of our crafters put forward name suggestions and Cookie was the one that was chosen from a short list. Cookie joined his socialisers Annie and Stuart in January 2025 and settled right in!

We always enjoy seeing Cookie at many of our fairs until he moves onto the next stage of his training.

September 2025

Annie reports that “Cookie is now 9 months old and has grown into a very handsome young man. He is well behaved at home and whenever he goes out and about. His settle has been amazing from the start and we got the best comment we could wish for when leaving a restaurant recently – “We didn’t realise you had a dog with you”!!!

He has coped very well with all the different challenges he has met including travelling on the bus and train, and going in lifts and shops. He has accompanied us on some hospital visits and walks beautifully next to a friend’s wheelchair when we take her out. Cookie is great in the car, travelling well in the boot and on the back seat, with not a peep out of him when we were stuck on the M25 and our journey took four hours!

We are still working on his recall – he is a very sociable dog and even though he will now not run up to people, dogs are a different matter unless we are on the ball and get a command in there first! At the moment he is still on a long line in very doggy areas to help with this but he is improving by the day.
Cookie has been making fantastic progress, and we couldn’t be more proud of how far he’s come. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support — thank you for being a part of his journey.”

June 2025

Cookie turned 6 months old on 4 June. Annie coments “Cookie is a joy to socialise!

He is a confident pup, but being half Golden Retriever means that he does have the odd Goldie moment!! He can be a little unsure of new objects, like a park bench, but he realised it was ok when I went and sat on it! When there are no distractions his recall is fantastic, but when there are other dogs it is definitely a work in progress!! And so we are keeping him on a long line for the time being when he is on a free run.

He loves his trips to the beach and splashing about in the water (as you can see!). We have also visited several National Trust properties where the staff have commented on how well-behaved he is.

Cookie is a very affectionate pup and adores his cuddles, and especially loves playing with our 2 year old grandson. He typically likes to be wherever we are, but is equally happy to be left whenever necessary.”

February 2025

Cookie made his first visit to our craft fair and enjoyed cuddles with many of the stallholders!

“All of our pups that have come in for training have qualified and they are super little life changers, as we hope this one will be too. This is the reason we are able to let them go after the 12 months, when we see the life changing difference they have made to their new clients.” – Annie (Cookie’s socialiser)
